We are a nation that addresses the moon as Chandamama and rivers and cows as Mata. We consider cows an integral part of our family in all parts of India. We name our cows too. To take care of our cows round the clock for all their needs and connect the Gausevaks across the nation, we are on a holistic mission at Rashtriya Gau Sevak Sangh. The whole emphasis is on looking after our cows as we would look after the members of our family.
At Rashtriya Gau Sevak Sangh, we strive to connect all the Gausevaks and Gaurakshaks on a single platform and work toward enhancing the lives of mother cows.
The cow is not just an animal or a pet in India but a life nourisher to understand the relationship closely. A cow helps us in several ways, be it providing milk, cow dung or cow urine. Cow’s milk is a nutritious product to supply our needs for protein, calcium and other nutrients. Cow dung is used as manure, biogas producer, and floor and wall protector and as mosquito repellent. Cow urine is used in several healthcare and beauty products.
Rashtriya Gau Sevak Sangh intends to train volunteers in all aspects of cow care and keep our cows healthy and clean. It is the dire need of the time for us to understand our responsibilities to look after our pride - our cows. It would lead to the healthy growth of our cows in a hygienic environment. The whole idea is to have trained volunteers in all the nooks and corners of India so that our cows don’t suffer from neglect or want of attention.
Abandoned and destitute cows are a blot on mankind. Nothing can be more selfish than abandoning cows when they are old or sick to fend for themselves. The gausevaks armed with knowledge about cows, imparted by us during the training, would help in addressing this issue. Our cows also suffer from foot rot diseases and other bacterial and fungal diseases, which could be due to unhygienic conditions or due to ignorance on the part of the caretakers of the cows. We would ensure that with our zeal, expertise and experience, we would prepare top-notch professional gausevaks who would take care of issues like this.
Cows getting injured during accidents and diseased are not such a pleasant sight on our roads and highways. Cows chewing polythene bags and other inedible items on roads is an eyesore, but it happens all the time around us. Gausevaks trained by Rashtriya Gau Sevak Sangh would be alert and prompt to such issues. They would take needy cows to gaushalas, veterinary doctors or animal hospitals. These volunteers or gausevaks would also look after the fact that these cows are fed healthy and nutritious food to keep them strong and healthy.
Rashtriya Gau Sevak Sangh is a social welfare entity to serve the national cause of the well-being of our cows. It believes in imparting knowledge and empowering individuals who would look after the cows as their own. These gausevaks would not just serve the cause of animal welfare but also prove with their actions and professional attitude why we feel so strongly about our cows. Cows are not just our assets but our pride too. It connects well with the fact that India is the largest milk producer in the world right now.
Our mission is to create a Gau Universe in which we will create a team of Gausevaks and dairy farmers to help them serve the cows a life full of hope and respect. We are taking significant leaps in the direction of creating a crossroads that entails- Cow Protection and cow shelter, Dairy Farming, Promoting Gauseva as a profession, and bringing the wave of self-employment.
India has had a tradition of revering cows for a long, long time. Cows have been an integral part of Indian society. Be it a village or a city, cows can be seen outside huts and houses and little calves playing with children. Indians don’t consider cows only as animals but treat them as an integral part of their families.
